Welcome to Yongling’s academic website

Personal

Hello, and welcome to the academic site of Yongling Zhang. I am currently a graduate student at the Department of Educational Policy and Administration, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

I was born and brought up in Shanghai, China, where I went to school and Fudan University to study history as an undergraduate. Along my ways of my college life, I developed a strong interest in education through my part time job as an English teacher. I did throughout my four undergraduate years and really enjoyed it.

Then I left for Liverpool, England where I pursued my Masters degree at the University of Liverpool. My second year in Liverpool was voluntary working with Groundwork, a nation-wide environmental charity.

I came to Minnesota, USA in fall 2005 and began my doctoral studies in Comparative International Development Education. My current research interests focus on citizenship education and girls’ education.

In this website, you will not only find academic-related information about me, but also the campus-wide activity I organize: Global Discussion, which aims to promote cross-cultural understanding in timely world issues and to facilitate the internationalization of the University. I also serve as president for EPASA, Educational Policy & Administration Student Association for the academic year 2006-07.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks
