Kurt M. Wilms
About
In the spring of 2005 I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Management.
I particularly like designing and building interesting software systems, applying data mining and machine learning techniques on huge data sets, and writing software apps that touch a large number of users.
During my time at the University of Minnesota I worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for the prestigious GroupLens research project. I was involved in the design and development of a web interface for a mobile device application called PlaceMail. I also spent a year as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant teaching CSCI 1901: Structure of Computer Programming I.
Immediately after graduating, I worked as a technology consultant in Chicago, IL. Currently, I live in San Francisco, CA where I am working as a software engineer at digg.com. In my free time I enjoy running marathons, collecting rare books, and hanging out with friends. You can contact me by sending an email to wilms@cs.umn.edu.
