Speaker Events
Women in Business holds speaker meetings every second and fourth Wednesday as a way to educate and connect with our members. We bring in company representatives from the local business community to speak on topics pertinent to our undergraduates, such as proper business communication and attire, how to transition into the workforce, etc.
Networking Events
Each fall and spring we host our signature gathering, a networking event either on campus or at an off-site location where business professionals and undergraduates come together for a night of fun, food, and good conversation. The goal is to create lasting connections, not necessarily to find jobs. These events are sponsored by local companies in exchange for exposure and advertisement to the Women in Business members, as well as a significant portion of company representatives in attendance at the event location.
Social and Volunteer Events
In addition to the speaker events, Women in Business hosts at least one social event and one volunteer event per month. These events allow our members to casually network outside of the classroom environment. In the past, the social events included an evening at Dakota Jazz Club and an afternoon of volleyball and grilling. Examples of past volunteer events include Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, and the Breast Cancer Awareness 5K. This year and into the future we look forward to expanding these events to be partnerships with corporations interested in being involved with our organization and in the community!
