What
does the Tango Club
Board do anyway?
The
tango board is a group of tango enthusiasts who meet
regularly to make the Tango Club events and classes happen.
We arrange for practice
and lesson space,
hire teachers, organize fundraisers, write grants applications and
Tango FAQs, etc.
You’ll
see many of us out
dancing at least once a week, helping out at the University practica,
and with
the beginner classes as well.
The
Tango
Club is still fairly young, having been founded in 2004, and our goals
include growing
into a better organized and self-sustaining club that will get students
out on
the dance floor to discover what lured all of us board members to tango
in the
first place, and what keeps us coming back to the dance week after week.

I started learning Tango in September 2009, after much
encouragement from a friend who has been doing the dance for years. It
quickly got under my skin, and now I'm just enthralled. I love the
improvisational and creative openness of the dance, along with its
challenge and mythic history. No other partnered dance comes close to
touching the possibilities that exist within the tango. Come and give
it a try.

Hi everyone, I started Argentine Tango in January 2008. I
find that this dance is the most challenging and interesting
dance I have
ever taken. It requires a lot of patience but it is fun.
Try it for a semester;
you might fall in love with it just like us!
