FAQ
1) What do I wear?
Wear something that you are comfortable moving in. We're mostly
students, so it's a very casual environment.
2) Shoes?
If you have shoes that have soft soles (suede, etc) they are IDEAL for
tango. You want a smooth surface on the bottom of your shoes. DO NOT
feel like you have to go out and buy special shoes for tango. Socks are
really good too! Be sure, however, that you wear (if possible) shoes
that will not "come off." Ankle straps for heels, no flip flops, etc.
3) When do I pay?
Membership due is due on the second lesson in the
semester.
4) Do I need a partner?
Absolutely not! We rotate partners often and there is usually a good
ratio of girls to guys. Just bring yourself!
Welcome Dancers!
The Argentine
Tango Club, or Utango, promotes Argentine culture and dance
specifically geared towards the University of Minnesota community.
Utango was founded in the Spring of 2004, and since then we have held
weekly classes, sponsored guest instructors from Minneapolis and
beyond, and hosted social dance events.

what's going on with the club now!
Do you
want to get involved with
the club?
If tango is your dance, and you would
like to help out in
some way, feel free to email us (utango@umn.edu) to
inquire about board
meetings, and we’ll likely be able to find a
way for you to help out. Many
of our current board members will be
leaving at the end of the year, so we need a new generation of tango
addicts to
help take the helm. It’s
fun and rewarding,
we promise!
