The training calendar is posted, but there is one glaring conflict right at the start. The 15th of November is a state religious holiday for all faiths. The Minnesota Cyclocross Championships are that weekend, and everyone on the team is obligated to attend or there will be dire consequences. You don't have to race, but you should come spectate. Returning members can testify to the importance of this event. Team practice will re-officially begin on Monday the 16th at 7PM in the SPG with some light spinning, fitting and sizing of bikes and getting to know each other.

Did we ever clear up the problem we had the one time they tried to ticket people?

Is there plenty of spaces or does one need to get there early?

so I am assuming that we will be needing our own bikes and trainers for the first session...? or did the spinning term mean that they are going to let us use the spinner bikes at the gym. just wondering. looking forward to this as it is my first time...but i guess there's a first for everything!

We don't use the spin bikes. If you don't have the right equipment yet, you can just come and meet people and get sized up for your bike. We don't get serious for a couple of weeks.

Hi everyone,
I have some not so great news. As some may remember, Billy noticed that my body position was very crooked on the bike last year. I just found out that I have rare case of osteoarthritis in my left hip joint, which means I will probably need a hip replacement in the next 5 years. I also found out that the motion of peddling has and will make things worse. I hope to still ride on occasion, but racing and training are out of the question. Finding out that I can't race with the team anymore was the hardest part of the whole ordeal for me. I will be fine though, I just have to start swimming instead. I wish you all the best of luck this year, and hopefully I will see you around.

So sorry Mike. We will miss you at training. The best thing for you is to get better and keep yourself fit for the replacement surgery. From what I have heard from the many friends who are getting this procedure, it is a remarkable change in your lifestyle. Minimal recovery and fast healing. Take care and keep in touch to let us know how it goes. Billy

That's a major bummer.  Remember to stay focused on your long-term health.

Hey,

I'm new to the team and planning on coming to indoor training but my trainer is at home and I wont be going home until Thanksgiving. Is there any way I could borrow one until then or should I just wait?

Thanks,

Ana Urban
