The Men’s Crew Team is treated as a Club Sport by the University of Minnesota and does not receive varsity funding from the Sports Department. As such, the rowers pay for travel, lodging, and new boats out of pocket and through fundraising opportunities. As you can imagine, a full time student rowing 20 hours a week may find it a bit challenging to fundraise while still maintaining homework, grades, jobs and the fitness levels necessary to maintain their spot on the Team.

The University of Minnesota Men’s Crew Team is currently looking to purchase a new VESPOLI V1 8-man racing shell by the Spring 08 Season. A fully fitted boat with all necessary hardware and rigging costs $35,000. We are planning to raise money any way possible, but please know that you, as a Donor, can make a tremendous difference in the competitiveness of this team. Let’s give the Gophers a chance to go out with the equipment they need to perform their best!

Every penny donated is Tax-Deductible under Section 170(a)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code and furthermore, gifts made to the University of Minnesota Men’s Crew are deductible for federal estate and gift tax purposes under section 2055(a)(1) and section 2522(a)(1), respectively.

Please make your donations out to:

1900 University Avenue SE

Thank you for all of your support!
