We rolled the first two games against inferior teams.

We got into a tight game with Gustavus. We underestimated them (they won exit 69). And we had a lot of trouble moving the disc against their zone. They beat us by 2 points.

Gustavus had earlier lost to Winona by 3. We played Winona better, bringing some great pressure defense at the end and winning the game by one point, to create a three way tie.

We lost the three way on point differential and matched up with Whitewater in the morning. Whitewater had some graduates helping their team. We were beset with drops and anxious play and we lost handily.

We cleaned up two more teams in the consolation bracket.

We struggled the most with handler disc movement, which especially showed against the zone. We did not consistently bring our "A game" on D. And we at times lost focus on fundamentals.

On the other hand, everyone played a ton. Much fun was had. And this is the first stepping stone to getting better as a team. We are all excited about adding the missing pieces back into the mix, and seeing what level we can take it to as a full team. CCC is going to rock.

Props go to Calvin who was uncoverable.  Props go to Justin who had five or more lay out Ds and fewer TOs than that.  Props go to Marcus who was a cool cucumber throughout.  Mad props go to Jeff who was uncoverable and got many Ds.  Ranger cut, D'd and scored goals like a muther.  Mad props go to Chuck who played great until he broke my neck in a wrestling match.

Love, Charlie
