TAAM Apple picking outing:
You can join TAAM for your choice of activities at the orchard. You can
pick your own apples or pumpkins (or buy some already picked), ride
ponies
($2) or feed the animals at the petting zoo. You can take a hay ride,
hike or ride horse-back. There is food and entertainment, or you can sit
and relax with your own picnic.
Directions: Take I-494 to Highway 169 South and drive approx. 24 miles
to
Jordan. Turn left at the O.K. Corral Restaurant onto Delaware Ave /
County
Rd 59, and follow signs to Minnesota Harvest Orchard on the right.
There is plenty of parking.

Young Turkish pianist performance
Artun Hoinic, an 18-year-old student at the Faculty of Music & Performing
Arts at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, won the second annual
Charles B. Olson Young Composers Contest of the Encore Wind Ensemble of
Roseville, MN. Artun will come to Minnesota to hear the premiere
performance of his winning piece, "Sonata for Winds," and accept his
prize
of $500. Artun Hoinic's "Sonata for Winds" will be performed Sunday,
October 10, 2004 at 3:00 pm (with a guest appearance by the composer) at
St. Mark'sLutheran Church in North St. Paul. For more information please

The price for students is $10 which includes a wide-sampling of Turkish

Karagoz (owner of Istanbul Bistro). The festivities will also include
