We like to welcome most of you back from your winter break. We hope that
you had a wonderful and relaxing New Year.s and holiday season. To
kick-off the Fall Semester we have organized a couple of events for you to

TAAM/TASA TEA SOCIAL THIS SUNDAY JANUARY 23rd AT MAPPS COFFEE
There will be a Tea Social at MAPPS Cafe this Sunday, January 23rd from 2
to 5 p.m. Come out and meet other Turkish students, as well as, other
Turks living in the Twin Cities area! MAPPS Coffee is located 1 block
from Carlson School of Management at the corner of Cedar and Riverside
Avenue. TAAM will provide snacks and refreshments.

TURKISH MOVIE ON JANUARY 27
TASA will be showing a Turkish movie on Thursday, January 27th at the
Carlson School of Management. Any suggestions or loan of movies for this
date is welcomed. Look out for an email with the movie title and room
details.
TSUNAMI RELIEF FUNDRAISER

"Twin Cities. most venerable house and techno DJs along with Solera
Restaurant and Event Center, have come together to organize a benefit for
earthquake and tsunami survivors in South Asia. RELIEF takes place
Friday,
January 21 at Solera, located at 900 Hennepin Ave. in downtown
Minneapolis.
In the first event of its kind, over twenty of Twin Cities. veteran club
DJs and musicians will showcase their talents throughout the night to help
raise funds for the relief efforts. Performers include 500 Internal, Big
Mama J, Bryan Gerrard, ceebee, Chuck Love, David Drone, DeeJWood, DVS1,
four feet, Giancarlo, Gigi, Jevne, Jobot, Jon Hester, Josh Thomas, Kostja,
Monique, Monte Hilleman,Negative, Norton Fortune, Red Richard, Ryan
Simatic,Tambuca, The Beat Rascal,Timmay and Vision.
All net proceeds collected at the door will go to the World Health
Organization.s South Asia Earthquake and Tsunami Fund. Suggested donation
