Event: Navratri 2006

There is an event that is taking place this week and next week that some of you guys may be interested in. It is called Navratri, where the have tradition Indian Folk dances called Garba and Raas. Garba, is celebrated during the festival of Navratri, honoring the goddess Amba along with others. The deity is placed in the middle and people dance around it by gracefully bending sideways, the arms coming together in beautiful sweeping gestures, up and down, left and right, each movement ending in clap. Raas is also done, where there are sticks (which represent the sword of goddess Durga) used to dance with. This is usually celebrated by Gujratis, but even if you are not, in the past, lots of
other people around India have enjoyed, so come and try it out, at least once!

Gophers After Dark

Join Gophers After Dark this weekend for late night entertainment. Friday night features a Dodge ball Tournament with Team Photos and a Uniform Contest. Then laugh the night away on Saturday with comedians Owen Smith and David Harris. Next weekend is also full of fun with the Price is Right Gameshow, Bowling and Billiards, a Pasta Dinner and a Trivia Contest offering a $200 Cash Prize! TRG Seeks Immediate Openings for Chinese-Speaking IT and Business Students Telematics Research Group provides product and technology research on the emerging field of automotive telematics. This includes wireless technologies, GPS tracking/navigation, in-vehicle entertainment and advanced driver assist technologies.

Our clients include the major automotive OEMs and electronics suppliers worldwide such as GM, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Toyota, Motorola, and Siemens. TRG has immediate openings for Chinese-speaking interns at its
Minnetonka offices. Interested applicants should have related academic background such as engineering, IT, or business. Ideal candidates will be 3rd or 4th year undergrads. Qualified applicants will be able to speak, read, and write simplified Chinese.
