Cast Auditions
There are three stages in the audition process. Every cast member must audition. You must sign up to audition at the same time as a fellow law student to do the script readthrough. To sign up for auditions, sign up during Lunch on October 5-7 in the Subplaza or on the corkboard by the lockers when we are not tabling.
1. Initial Audition
The initial auditions scheduled for October 11, 14, and 15 take approximately 15 minutes and consist of reading through the prepared script with the person sharing your audition slot (page 5) and performing a solo song of your choice for the Casting Board. In particular, the Casting Committee wants to see your confidence, hear your voice and enjoy your natural humor. Additionally, please do not sing the following songs because we may perform these in the musical:

- Zoot Suit Riot
- What's Goin' On
- Seize the Day
- Summertime Blues
- Day-O
- Total Eclipse of the Heart
- Baby, It's Cold Outside
- What's This?
- Somebody to Love
- 500 Miles
- What is This Feeling?
- I'm Every Woman
- It Takes Two
- Dancing Queen
- (I've Had the) Time of My Life
- My Lovin' (Never Gonna Get It)
2. Dance Audition
Dance auditions will take place on October 18, 21, and 22 from 6:00 - 8:00. All cast members are required to attend one of the dance audition dates. At this audition, you can expect to learn a group dance routine from our choreographer with joint and severally participating tortfeasors, and perform it at the end of the audition. Dressing up in leotards is highly encouraged. No one will be rejected from the show for having the dance skills of a lumpy rock. Those who wish to be cast as featured dancers should attend the Oct. 18 audition or contact our choreographer Emily Van Brunt.
3. Callbacks (only for lead roles)
Callbacks will take place on October 25, 28, and 29. Most leading roles have a callback component where the potential lead will be asked to come in and perform lines and a song tailored to their potential character. We will contact you by e-mail with specific directions/materials and to schedule a callback time slot.
