Members' Personal Information
To be able to manage, assist, and communicate with members, ThaiSA collects personal information about members at the time of the registration, when members update their information, and when members communicate with us. This information includes personally identifiable information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, Web sites, IP addresses, and others. Information marked required in the registration form and update form is needed for ThaiSA to do our jobs. If you do not want to provide us this information, please do not register for membership. For other information not marked as required, it is each member's decision whether he/she wants us to collect and store it. Members will have an opportunity to delete this non-essential information at any time.
To facilitate internal communication among ThaiSA members, information collected about each member, including personal and contact information, could be disclosed to other ThaiSA members. This information will not be disclosed to non-members and unauthenticated Web site visitors unless the member allows ThaiSA to do so (by specifying "Make Profile Public" during the registration or profile update), or ThaiSA is required by law or the University policies or in case of emergency. Members will have an option to change the "Make Profile Public" setting at any time. If you do not want us to disclose your information with other members, please do not register for membership, or if you are already a member, please cancel your membership.
Information about a member will be used only for tasks related to our mission statement, to communicate with the member, to maintain or protect our organization, and to comply with federal and state laws and the University's policies.
If a member cancels his/her membership, or terminates his/her membership because of graduation, departing from Minnesota, or other reasons, he/she will have to choose whether to allow public, members-only, or administrators-only access to his/her record. This decision is final and could not be changed after the termination, except in special cases if approved by an administrator. If public access is chosen, all Web site visitors will be able to see his/her name, contact information, and other information such as degree and major. If members-only access is chosen, parts of this information will be visible to ThaiSA members, but not external parties. The administrators-only access is the most private option. In this case, information will not be visible to ThaiSA members and Web site visitors, but will be retained in our record and only ThaiSA administrators will be able to access it. If no choice is specified, the default is members-only access.
If membership of a member is revoked based on ThaiSA's decision, his/her information will also be retained in the record, and an administrator will determine the appropriate level of access to this information. The default level is members-only access.
In order for this Web site to function properly, parts of your information, such as your username, access level privilege, and identification number may be recorded in your browser's cookies. You will not be able to enter certain areas without authentication, if your browser doesn't accept cookies, or your browser's cookie feature is disabled. Confidential information such as your password will only be accessible by you and administrators.

These software programs may collect information from network packets or your computer. This information include, but is not limited to, IP addresses, domain names, host names, URLs, e-mail headers, pages visited on the Web site, the date and time of the visit, the version of the operating system and browser used, capabilities of and other information about the browser and its plug-ins, screen resolution, search terms used on search engines to visit the site, referring sites, and other related information.
