What is SPAN?

The Student Project for Amity among Nations, SPAN, is Minnesota's oldest study abroad and independent research program. Under the guidance of qualified academic advisors, students complete 40 hours of pre-departure coursework. Then, during a two-month stay in their host country, students conduct independent, self-designed field research on a self-chosen topic. Upon return, students write an extensive research paper. SPANners earn eight upper-level academic credits for their international educational experience.
