New Players

Minnesota Men's Soccer Club is one of the most talented and successful programs in the Midwest. We are composed of two highly competitive teams: Gold and Maroon. Typically, the Gold team requires more time commitment from players than the Maroon team.

The season starts the 2nd week in August with tryouts. Coaches evaluate players throughout the week and then at the end select the Gold and Maroon teams. Pre-season practices and games, which are traditionally played against MIAC opponents, run until the first week of September when the regular season starts.

Throughout the season we play against other colleges from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, and North Dakota. The Gold team usually travels to one away tournament as well. The regular seasons ends in late October with a regional tournament. The winner gets an automatic bid to play in the national club tournament. Minnesota has an excellent record at the national tournament.

In the spring we do not have a regular season. However, we do play in exhibition games and still hold club practices. Spring practices are open to all players and is a good time for anyone intersted in playing with the club to come out and join us.

Tryouts in the fall last for a full two hours everyday, so it is important players show up in good shape. Players who live out of town are encourage to come to tryouts. We have housing available so no one has to pay for hotels costs or make a long drive to and from tryouts.

If you are interested in playing for the club and have questions, please email us.
