Is proud to sponsor the SME/GSM Fall Outing, featuring a cruise on the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis and historic St. Anthony on the riverboat Betsey Northrup.

Nonmembers and guests are welcome!

Guest speaker Prof. Calvin Alexander of the Dept. of Geology and Geophysics of the University of Minnesota will give a talk for general audiences on the history of St. Anthony Falls and the geology exposed along the Mississippi River.  He and our ship Captain will describe other sites of interest, including the Stone Arch Bridge, the lock and dam system, the original Pillsbury buildings, and recent archeological discoveries.

When:              Saturday, October 11, 2003
                           Please arrive for boarding at 12:30 pm. Cruise until 4:00 pm.

Where:             Convenient parking at Boom Island Park, 8th Ave. NE & Sibley St.
                           NE Minneapolis. See map on reverse side.

Cost:                $35.00 per person. This includes the cruise and a delicious luncheon
                           buffet with cash bar.

Afterwards:     Explore the unique shops in the area and check out the fine restaurants.
                           For inexpensive genuine Eastern European ethnic dining, we recommend
                           Kramarchuk’s Sausage Co., 215 E. Hennepin Ave.

A GSM waver is attached and should be signed and brought to the boarding ramp.
