Minneapolis city has been tagged as the City of Lakes or the Water city. It has been labeled as one of the coolest tourist destinations in United States. “Minnea” is a Dakota word for Water. This city boasts of 10 000 lakes and remains the largest city in Minnesota. St. Paul is the capital of the state but Minneapolis remains the favorite tourist attraction in the state and most visited place by any visitor of the state. One of the main reasons for this is that the City of Minneapolis houses the biggest mall of United states viz., Mall of America. The Mall Of America

It is the biggest mall in the whole of United States. It is even bigger than the one in New York City. It is so big that you can take a 12 km light rail to Downtown Minneapolis. You can find all the detailed information about it at Mall of America. It houses more than 400 stores, movie theatres and an underground aquarium that is home to sharks and sting rays! It has more than 12 000 employees under its roof and each day it has more than 3 to 4 million visits.

The Mall of America has an indoor amusement park and an array of bars and clubs. All the leading brand stores including Macy’s Bloomingdales, Nordstrom’s and Sears are housed in the Mall of America. It has many other famous chain stores like the Gap, Limited, Banana Republic, Victoria Secrets and the like. Two food courts, many restaurants and snack stands. There are also an indoor park with two roller coasters and other fun rides. Mall of America is also a place for water lovers to enjoy the underwater adventures and they can even celebrate their birthdays there. It is a place to let yourself lose with your credit cards and get ripped off the cash.

Lovers of culture, arts and theater can amuse themselves at the string of theatres in Minneapolis. The Guthrie Theatre is one of the oldest and favorite theatres. It is the venue for performances by famous artists and world class singers. Visitors can take an enriching stroll at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Weisman Art Museum. People can find an array of outdoor attractions like ice skating at the ice rinks, ice fishing and snow boarding or even cross country skiing.

Another site in Minneapolis is the Dinosaur Museum where you can witness an almost live Tyrannosaurus Rex and other species that have roamed the earth thousands of years ago. This museum houses life-like dinosaurs and not fossils or preserved species. Fort Snelling which was once a military establishment is now a famous tourist attraction. It is also a famous rendezvous for nature lovers. The modern Fort has nature trails, guided tours and other interesting items for tourists. A place that was once a meeting place between an increasing American population and existing natives now serves under civilian capacity as a nature and history facility.

You can take a walk to the Walker Arts Center on the outskirts of Downtown area. It is considered to be the country’s largest sculpture garden with 40 works of arts. You can also visit the Minehaha park and stop by to view the beautiful Minehaha falls. These falls experience four seasons. It drips in Spring, but water gushes in summer and in winter the water stands still as the complete water freezes in the region.
