Print Your Poster
Print a letter-sized draftYou may wish to print your entire poster onto a single sheet of letter-size paper as a draft or as a handout. Posters can be printed on letter size paper by checking the "Scale to Fit Paper " function within the "Print" menu. CBS Imaging Center's Large format printer: 34" wide x 42" tall postersThe College of Biological Sciences invested funds from student technology fees to buy an HP Designjet 5500PS large format printer, which is located in the CBS Imaging Center. The Imaging Center will print posters for the 2006 Undergraduate Symposium on 34" x 42" paper in the PORTRAIT orientation. Before creating your poster, be sure that you have set the correct page size for your PowerPoint file as follows: Create a new file and choose "blank page" as your layout. Go to File > Page Setup and enter the width (34") and the height (42"). The "portrait" orientation should be highlighted. Press "OK" and ignore the warning that the page is too large for your current printer. If the rulers are turned on, you'll see that the empty page is the correct size. Submit your poster for printing at the CBS Imaging CenterFREE Printing for the 2007 Undergraduate Symposium!The cost of printing a poster at the CBS Imaging Center for ANY STUDENT WHO HAS SUBMITTED AN ABSTRACT for the 2007 Undergraduate Symposium will be paid for by the student's college. To print your poster at the CBS Imaging Center, simply use THIS FORM to upload and submit your poster online. DEADLINE to Submit Posters for Printing at the CBS Imaging Center is April 11, 2007:Due to the large volume of posters expected, the deadline to submit a poster will be April 11, 2007. When your poster is ready to be picked up, the Imaging Center staff will contact you. The Imaging Center is located in Snyder Hall (Rooms 23 and 35) on the St. Paul campus. LaminationLamination significantly reduces the speed at which your poster will fade. Posters printed using non-archival inks will significantly fade in the first 6 months if displayed in normal room lighting. If your poster is laminated it may be hung for several years before noticeable fading occurs. If you print your poster at the CBS Imaging Center and would like to have your poster laminated, ask the Imaging Center staff about their discount arrangment for lamination by a local business. When you pick up your poster at the Imaging Center, be sure to ask for a coupon worth 10% off the regular price of having your poster laminated at Tierney Brothers.
