December		At end of the year, US forces in Vietnam down to 140,000.
Jan	Steve Parker's Glyptodont Editorial	"Bloody Sunday" shootings kill 13 in Londonderry. Dallas defeats Miami to win the Super Bowl.
Feb		Nixon visits China. "The Happy Hooker" published.
March		Amendment to US constitution banning discrimination against women approved by Congress; was never ratified by states. "The Godfather" wins best picture, "Cabaret", "Deliverance" and "Sounder" also honored.
April		U. S. resumes bombing North Vietnam. Emmy awards won by "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", "All in the Family" and "The Carol Burnett Show".
May		J. Edgar Hoover dies. George Wallace shot and paralyzed. First break-in at Watergate hotel. Nixon announces mining of N. Vietnam ports.
