Dear SHADEy,

My girlfriend is on the pill but still gets anxious when I cum. What can I do?

Frustrated in Fridley

Dear Frustrated,

The trouble with the pill is that its effectiveness depends on how well your girlfriend does with taking it on time. Planned Parenthood says that with perfect use, fewer than five women in 1000 on the pill will get pregnant during the first year. If she uses the pill correctly and consistently, you cumming in her has a very small risk.

My question for you is this – your contraception method is the pill; what are you using for disease prevention? Some couples in committed college relationships forego condoms, but many others still use condoms for disease prevention. If partners are strangers, casual acquaintances or dating non-exclusively, they definitely need to use condoms even if the pill is used for contraception. Don’t forget to discuss these things with her because there may not be any bed shaking if she’s too worried. A condom for her peace of mind, and yours, may be just the thing.
