City of Minneapolis

The City of Minneapolis owns it's own locomotive to switch the River Services Port of Minneapolis near the intersection of Washington and Dowling in North Mpls. This unit works the area with grain and rock transload as it moves to river barge for shipping down river from the northern most shipping port on the Mississippi... They use a SW1500 that started as Minnesota Transfer 301 - after retirement there it simply moved from St Paul to Minneapolis keeping the same colors and number.

SW1500 #301 sits in the shed with downtown in the background.
