Classic Soo power - F units in the wash rack and a GE U30C on the next track at Shoreham Yard in the late 70's - talk about the good old days for Soo fans! Thanks to Greg Smith for the photos

Todd Madson found these two MP15s on the MNS local in Oct '04, the rare all-red 1532 and a more common Milwaukee Road bandit 1543

For a time in the mid-90's Shoreham shops in Northeast Mpls was a haven for finding stored rare power. Here a is MILW SW sitting in the storage line. Scott Kotnour photo- 1997

And SD40B #6450 [which would stay on with CP until mid-2004] with SD40 #6401 [now FURX #3000]. Scott Kotnour photo - 1996

And a wide variety of classic Soo GP power also stored... Scott Kotnour photo - 1996

And a view of the shops - they are still mostly intact and in a perpetual state of "entering preseravtion" - the folks in Northeast want to save the shops on Central Ave to house any number of proposed things from a rail museum to shops, etc. but CP doesn't want to clean up the area to allow for the sale of the buildings. Scott Kotnour photo from 1998 when things were wrapping up there and finally moving completely to Pig's Eye shops in St Paul

Classic plows at Pig's Eye - a former MILW flanger to the left and a plow to the right, both seem to be former steam tenders... Scott Kotnour photo 1997

A GP30C - now on TCW - and slug 2118 - now at ILS - at the fuel rack at Shoreham... Scott Kotnour photo

And lots of stored Soo SW units around the turntable at Shoreham. Scott Kotnour photo - 1998

CP M636 #4704 visits Pig's Eye shops in 1998, CP would occationally send the huge MLWs south to the Cities but it was a rare sight to actually catch one on film. Scott Kotnour photo
