TA Web Certification Program

The TA Web Certification Program combines hands-on technology training with the principles of sound course design and implementation. Over four weeks, instructors from the Digital Media Center (DMC), Academic and Distributed Computing Services (ADCS), and the University Libraries lead the participants through all phases of the course Web site development process. Participants learn to plan based on their instructional objectives, to design effective materials, and to author those materials using cutting edge software tools. This approach enables participants to create educational technology that is both functional and pedagogically smart.

The program is highly innovative and has served as the model for several other such programs at universities around the country. I participated in the TA Web Certification Program from 2000 to 2003 as an instructor, instructional coordinator, and curriculum developer.

Presentations and publications related to the TA Web Certification appear below. For current information about the program, visit their Web site at http://dmc.umn.edu/ta-web/index.shtml.
