1. What are the most common manifestations of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) in dogs? What are the most common clinical signs of acute prostatitis? Of chronic prostatitis?

Case Study: Your mother’s valuable breeding male, an 8 year old intact male Irish Setter, has been diagnosed with prostatitis and put on ampicillin. It has been on the antibiotics for two weeks and semen quality has not changed. Hypothesize reasons for this apparent treatment failure.
