1. Describe pros and cons of fecal flotation testing for diagnosis of internal parasites in puppies and adult dogs.

2. Can internal parasites be passed to the pups from a pregnant bitch while still in the uterus? If so, how?

3. Is a negative fecal flotation test for Giardia or Coccidia definitive for lack of infection in a pregnant bitch? Why or why not?

Case Study: You have had a consistent problem with hookworm in pups in your kennel. Describe measures you can use to control this situation, including treatment of your pregnant Border Collie and management of the kennel environment.
