DID YOU KNOW interesting facts (at least to me)
It takes 10 average size pollen loads (14-20mg) to provide the protein to rear one honey bee larva. A strong colony needs 2,000,000 (2 million) pollen loads or 20kg (45 lbs.) of pollen to rear the brood for the season. (Free, J.B. 1993. Insect Pollination of Crops. Academic Press. ISBN 0-12-266651-8. pg.20) I know the math does not come out but that is what he said. Actually the data is from 2 different experiments so who knows?
