Module 2: Uses of New Media in Media Education

Module 2

Using Tappedin.org and Nicenet.org

In this course, we will be using the free on-line discussion site, Tappedin.org, for on-line discussions. And, while we may not be using it as extensively as Tappedin.org, the Nicenet.org site also is available for your use.

We are using these sites for several reasons. These sites are both free, so you can use them in your own teaching to not only foster on-line discussion, but they can also serve as class web sites to provide students with links to relevant sites and to have them share documents.

Because the Tappedin.org site is more sophisticated and allows for more uses, it will be the primary site for the course. However, if you believe that your students may have difficulty using it, you can turn to the Nicenet.org site for classroom use.
