The mission of the Persian Student Organization of Minnesota (PSOM) is to
foster a safe and friendly environment for students and members of the
non-campus community to participate in planning Persian cultural events.
Furthermore, PSOM aims to serve the Persian community of Minnesota in
pursuit of a deeper sense of Persian culture, diversity, and historical
awareness through education and cultural events.

Please note that PSOM is a neutral student group based on the University of
Minnesota campus. PSOM does not hold any particular affiliation, whether
political, religious, etc. PSOM does not represent the University of
Minnesota. Furthermore, PSOM is a nonprofit student organization. No
individuals shall profit as a result of any revenue the group generates.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs: PSOM both hosts and
partakes in a variety of events during the academic calendar year. These
events may include, but are not limited to: Paint the Bridge, Campus
Activities Fairs, Coffman Arts Festival, Persian Film Night, Shabeh Yalda
(Persian Winter Celebration), and Nowruz (Persian New Year).

How this group's activities benefit the University community: PSOM's
activities benefit the University community by raising an awareness of
Persian culture among students, staff, and faculty at the University of
Minnesota.

How this group fits into its categories: PSOM fits into the Cultural and
Diversity category because the group's primary aim is to provide a
welcoming environment for students and members of the non-campus community
to plan Persian cultural events. These events are intended to enrich
people's sense of awareness in regard to Persian culture and diversity.

How to get involved with this group: Meeting times are convened on a
weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. The frequency of meeting times and
meeting locations are determined at the discretion of the President. For
