I'm a foreigner
|
There’s nothing like applying to extend my visa that reminds me more that I’m a foreigner. I don’t feel like a foreigner or an american or a swede. I’m neither passing nor staying. I’m present and I’ve got a plan and the place is just some surface I’m sliding across.
The same experience occurred in China, inducing similar effects. In producing evidence showing that I’ve been a good foreigner in Sweden, I’ve found that 13,000 dollars has been transferred into my Swedish bank account. I guess that’s about what it costs to live in Sweden per year—a bit more expensive than the US or China for a student. Besides sending bank documentation of this sum, I have to send forms attesting to passing my past classes and that I’m and will be enrolled.
Oh... read more about my ongoing project!
I'm building a massive closet/shelfing system out of 99% cafe trays and 1% purchased hardware. Totally RAD! |
