FUUCI Newsletter Everyone

WE MOVE TO FACEBOOK.

<>    In November 2008, we established our presence on Facebook.
This has given a new lease-on-life for our organization,
which needed to be named for this purpose.
So we took the new name:
The First Unitarian Universalist Church of the Internet (FUUCI).

 <>PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP.

Here is our Current Professional Leadership:
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~parkx032/Y-PRO.html
Other professional volunteers can be added at any time.

Do you know any other UU professional
who might like to be part of this Internet ministry?
Now that we have expanded to include adults of all ages,
a retired UU minister might be an ideal staff member.
Any suggestions?
If so, please send any such persons
to the FUUCI home page for more information:
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~parkx032/Y-INDEX.html

MORE PROPOSALS FOR CYBER-SERMONS NEEDED.

We already have a good set of cyber-sermons suggested.
But the number of different people
ready to create such short sermons is still quite small.

Do you know of any other people
who could created cyber-sermons for the FUUCI?
Here is the current list of proposals:
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~parkx032/YO.html

If you know any UU ministers,
you might send them the Open Letter to UU Ministers:
"Ten Reasons for Creating Cyber-Sermons
for the First Unitarian Universalist Church of the Internet:
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~parkx032/Y-OPEN-L.html

Also, if you know any retired UU ministers,
we have a special letter for them:
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~parkx032/Y-OPEN-R.html

But remember, cyber-sermons may be proposed
by anyone in the world.
You do not need to be a UU professional.
An extended essay has been added to the FUUCI home page
explaining the reasons behind this policy
of being open to all possible authors of cyber-sermons:
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~parkx032/Y-TALENT.html

CYBER-SERMON-OF-THE-MONTH PROPOSED.

I have been inviting various UU ministers
to submit the best sermons of their careers
to be considered for Cyber-Sermon-of-the-Month.
This is an attempt to discover and distribute
the very best in UU thinking by means of FUUCI.

<>    What UU ministers see the potential for Internet ministry?
Which ones are willing to edit their best sermons
to make them into screen-friendly cyber-sermons?
Here is the file explaining the format for cyber-sermons:
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~parkx032/Y-CYBSF.html

The basic content of what we do as a congregation
takes place on a monthly basis, rather than weekly,
as is traditional for local congregations.
But this may help people
who are members of local congregations see that
we are not trying to REPLACE the face-to-face congregations.
UUs everywhere can participate fully in their local activities
—and still appreciate a monthly cyber-sermon on their home computers.
Here are some basic ideas about the cyber-sermon-of-the-month:

SIMILAR ORGANIZATIONS BEING CONTACTED.

In order not to be perceived as trespassing on anyone else's turf,
we are in the process of asking other organizations
if they foresee any future conflicts with the FUUCI.
Several similar organizations are profiled here:
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~parkx032/Y-SIMLAR.html

First, we need to see if they agree
with the profile we have created for each of them.
If the missions are different, there should be no conflict.
If the missions are similar,
we would like to cooperate wherever possible.
Do you know of other organizations that should be contacted?
Do you agree with the differences already articulated?

James Park, webmaster for FUUCI:
