options for purchasing copies of

New Ways of Loving:
How Authenticity Transforms Relationships

for the EXCO seminar on love

Hello prospective members of the EXCO class called
"New Ways of Loving: How Authenticity Transforms Relationships",

Because I am a very frugal person myself
(see my EXCO class Voluntary Poverty: How to Simplify Your Life),
I am very sympathetic toward all potential members of
our seminar on New Ways of Loving
who must spend very carefully.

Therefore, I have developed two ways for you to read the book.

(If I can get a library to agree to accept a free gift of this book,
and place it permanently on their shelves,
that will add a third way for you to read it.)

If you want to be reminded of what this book contains,
go to Learn more about New Ways of Loving.

$20 OPTION

This option was created after the first class on New Ways of Loving
showed a strong preference for the cheapest version available.
This $20 option offers the first 148 pages from the sixth edition (2007),
Chapters 1-8, held together in a paper three-prong folder.
There is no printing on this folder,
but the title page, copyright page, and table of contents are included.
These are the chapters we discuss in this EXCO seminar:
"New Ways of Loving: How Authenticity Transforms Relationships".

Here is a summary of what is included in these four parts.
Each week we discuss one PART:

PART I  From Romantic Illusions to Authentic Loving

PART II  Loving Freely without Needing

PART III  Multiple Loving without Jealousy

PART IV  Sex-Scripts & Gender-Personalities

Because of the improvised nature of this binding,
there is no offer to buy back this version after the class is over.
$20 cash or check.

In order to take advantage of almost-expired printing cartidges for my laser printer,
I have decided to print slightly imperfect copies of these 8 chapters,
which will sell for 25% off,
which means you can have the first half of the book for just $15.
The quality of the printing is about what you would expect from photocopies.
You are invited to compare and decide for yourself.

$35 OPTION---with buy-back of undamaged copies

The standard bindings for the sixth edition (2007) of New Ways of Loving
are comb binding, screw-post binding, & loose-leaf notebook.

This option gives you all 13 chapters and all 264 pages of this book.
(Only the first 8 chapters are normally discussed in the EXCO seminar.
But you might want to read the other chapters on your own.
Here is the complete table of contents for NWL.)

$35 is the normal wholesale price for New Ways of Loving.
(The suggested retail price is $80.)

You pay $35 to receive your copy of NWL in whichever binding you prefer.
And you are thereafter free to do with it as you please:
You could keep it for yourself after the class is over.
You could lend or give it to others who might be interested in reading it.
You could even sell it to others who might like to take New Ways of Loving
the next time it is offered.

But here is the offer that will ultimately prove to be the cheapest for you:
If you take good care of your copy,
you can sell it back to the author at the end of the seminar for $30.
(This makes your net cost for reading it just $5.)
This is a willing-seller, willing-buyer agreement.
Neither side is under any contractual obligation.
The book belongs to you once you pay for it.

But if your book is undamaged after the end of our last class,
I will happily buy it back from you.
And I will sell it to someone in the next class.
The screw-post binding is the strongest,
which makes it the best candidate for this kind of buy-back.
But all three permanent bindings will be considered.

If you plan to sell your copy back at the end of the class,
you should probably keep it in a large envelope,
so that the corners will not be damaged when you put it into your back-pack, etc.

Under this option, you do have to have $35 at the beginning of the seminar.
But you can consider $30 of this as a returnable deposit.
This is definitely the least expensive option for reading New Ways of Loving.
And you can always change your mind
and decide to keep the book or pass it on to someone else
instead of selling it back to me.

You may pay by either $35 cash or a personal check for $35.

Yours ,
James Park,
author of New Ways of Loving and EXCO facilitator

PS: Mail order option:
It is also possible for anyone in the world
to obtain a copy of New Ways of Loving
by means of mail order.
Search the Internet for the publisher's website: Existential Books.
But this will cost you $5 more for the postage and handling.
(The cost of shipping and handling for readers outside of the USA is $16.)
And if you pay by credit card,
it will cost you yet another $5
to cover the cost of electronic transfer by means of PayPal.

Mail-order is the only option that allows payment by credit card.
(But it costs $5 more to cover the cut taken by your credit card company and PayPal).
All of the in-person purchases must be either cash or check.
