How to Find other UUs

on Your Campus

Because we Unitarian Universalists are a tiny minority
of the population—about one adult in 1,000
is a member of a UU congregation in the United States—
it may be very difficult to locate other UUs on your campus.
But if the same proportion holds for college students,
a campus of 20,000 students should have about 20 UU students.

Here are four steps you can take:

1. If you can find a local UU congregation,
they may be able to connect you with other UU students.
The UUA web site is one easy way to locate a UU congregation near you:
http://www.uua.org

2. Check with the office on campus that registers student organizations.
There may be a Unitarian Universalist group of some kind.

3. Check the Continental Unitarian Universalist Young Adult Network web page:
http://www.uuyan.org
Look for the groups in your state.
About 20 campus groups are currently listed.
If you discover a listing that is out of date or know of a group that is not listed,
contact C*UUYAN webmaster with the correct information.

4. If none of the above steps works, write to Michael Tino,
who is Director of the Unitarian Universalist Young Adult/Campus Ministries Office.
His e-mail address is: mailto:MTino@uua.org

5. Other methods for finding UUs on campus
will be added here when someone suggests them.
For example, the Young Adult/Campus Ministry Office
is now in the process of creating a searchable database
for all UU young adult and campus groups.
