Religious humanists are
people who no longer believe
in any of the traditional gods but who have
not given up on spirituality.
Spirituality
for Humanists:
Six
Capacities of Our Human Spirits
This
is a 24-page book by James Park.
The entire text
is available on this home page free of charge.
Just click Table
of Contents. This will leads you to the 10 files.
This book is recommended especially for
people
who wonder how it is possible to be a
person of spirit
without believing in any supernatural
beings.
A cyber-sermon by James Park
prepared for the
First
Internet Church.
This cyber-sermon
is also named
"Spirituality
for Humanists:
Six
Capacities of Our Human Spirits",
but it is only 3
pages long.
For people who do not have the time or interest
to read the 24 page
book,
this could be a
good place to begin
exploring this new
approach to spirituality.

Books on Existential Spirituality
The Church of Saint Søren
The Church of Saint Søren is only an idea at this point.
It would be a mailing
list and a home page
for people who want
to go more deeply
into the spirituality
of Søren Kierkegaard.
There are many sites
on the Internet already
devoted to Kierkegaard's
philosophy,
but none (so far)
exploring specifically his spirituality.
Several of his books on spiritual matters are reviewed on the
Existential
Spirituality Bibliography.
At present there are 150 million computers
that can read this
home page.
Perhaps only one
in a million of these people
is interested in
this form of spirituality.
But that is still
150 people world-wide,
which could make
a meaningful congregation on the Internet.
Send your ideas along these same lines to:
James Park, e-mail:
PARKx032@tc.umn.edu.
As soon as we have
5 interested people,
we will start a
mailing list.
Then this brief
announcement will be expanded into a set of files,
which will constitute
the home page of The Church of St. Søren.
Maybe we can make something happen by May 5, 2000,
Søren Kierkegaard's
birthday.
