GRANTS FOR ORIGINAL PHILOSOPHERS
The concept behind The Philosophers' Fund is simple:
Philosophers such as myself leave their copyrights
to The Philosophers' Fund at their deaths.
Under current copyright law,
the creator of any work that can be copyrighted
holds that copyright during the creator's life
---and 70 years after his or her death.
Original philosophers are often not recognized during their lives,
but several decades later, their copyrights might generate some income.
The royalty income from these copyrights
are held in trust for other original, creative philosophers.
The Trustees of The Philosophers' Fund
will be living original philosophers.
And they will decide which applicants
will receive what grants.
Right now there are no copyrights held by The Philosophers' Fund.
But in order to get some living philosophers
to donate their copyrights after their deaths,
we need to show that there are some living philosophers
deserving to be supported by grants from The Philosophers' Fund.
So informal applications are now being received.
If you are an original philosopher
(not just an academic philosopher),
then send a sample of your work to
