Bridegroom at the Gate

 

Later and steady came her affections:

CarefullyportionedglorifyingDole

…Less am I to stay tortured election…

‘Fore carnal body’s cleft from crying soul.

Defected prodigal, nettled dearth slain,

And whetted by God (Father, Son, and Divine

Spirit) to slice out baned eyes and Earth rain.

Loosed out my sockets a salty-light shine

Let lit at last and Communion with right-

Full Groom. Processioned from the empty tomb

He rung me with rest bloodied white.
