Quasi Quo

"Solo electronics in an art/experimentation vein. Low key, well thought-out and executed. Full of interesting little quirks and hooks. Similar to some of Tom Furgas' more recent work. Understated and inventive".

--Bob Morris, Option Magazine

"A tape of strangely furtive, somewhat quirky musical electronic pieces. Excellent use of analog synths and vocal processing. Different than many other tapes I get employing these in that the pieces on this tape are fully realized and extremely varied. It helps that they treat you to different sound sources as well (voice, guitar, percussion), as opposed to the noodling with bleeps and whooshes you are stuck with on so many others. Highly recommended.

These songs and soundscapes were recorded between '81 & '85. We were just discovering ourselves at this time, and constantly surprising ourselves as well. At the time B.L. consisted of Greg Mathieson, Chris Waterbury and Bernard Olson. Except for the segments from the radio play "Dick Future and his Fabulous Dancing Stool", none of this was originally intended for anyone but ourselves to listen to. But as we started to notice the underground rippling with other people doing the same thing, we decided we couldn't keep ourselves secret anymore. Some of the songs have a very impromptu feel to them, because they were. Others were labored over for days. Some are light and airy, others dark and heavy. Some are composed and structurey, others free and willy.
