Neighborhood Effects Research
with special attention to “built environment” studies
This is an informal in-progress annotated bibliography compiled by Michael Oakes and colleagues at the University of Minnesota. We offer it in hopes of moving social epidemiologic research, especially, the subset addressing neighborhood effects, further along. Clearly papers listed are subjectively selected and related to Oakes’ own experiences and research interests. There can be no question that the bibliography is incomplete and offers a biased – that is, subjective -- perspective.
