About the Club
The University of Minnesota Men's Volleyball Club provides an opportunity for male students to play competitive, organized intercollegiate volleyball in the local, Big 10, Midwest regional and national circuits. Currently, the club offers two levels of play. The Gold team, primarily for beginning players, participates in intercollegiate tournaments with teams across the midwest. The Maroon squad, which is comprised of the top players at the school, competes in collegiate club tournaments throughout the country, including a full Big 10 schedule. The 2007-2008 season will culminate, for both teams, in April at the NIRSA National Championships in Dallas, Texas. Both teams are coached by experienced alumni players and certified coaches. Practices are held 2-3 nights per week during the Fall and Spring semesters. During practice, club members will learn the fundamentals of organized volleyball, with special attention paid to the specific skills necessary for a players designated position. Over the past several years the University of Minnesota Men's Volleyball club has established itself as one of the top teams in the region. This season looks to be another strong year, with the promise to once again contend for a Big Ten and NIRSA National title.
