Just a few places of interest for the newcomer:

We have quite a few Muslim-owned restaurants, meat, grocery, and clothing stores.  The most concentrated area is along Central Ave, northeast of downtown Minneapolis and the University.  You will find Holy Land (Middle Eastern Cuisine),  Devon (Grocery Shop), Zabiha Meat shop, NK Design (clothes shop), RJ Jewelers, and Fashion-n-Gifts. Also near Masjid Al-Huda.

Near the West Bank along Cedar Avenue, there are many Somali owned businesses where Muslims can find zabiha meat and eateries as well as Islamic fashion. Also many "store front" masjids.
