Crescent-faced Antpitta
You can download copies of trip checklists for Ecuador and Peru and plate indices to the Birds of Ecuador, Peru and Colombia by following the links to the left.

There are a few trip reports here as well, primarily to Ecuador. My last trip was to central Peru, including the Santa Eulalia valley, Marcopomacocha, Lago de Junín, the Carpish Tunnel, Bosque Unchog, Abra Malaga and Machu Picchu. I will post that report, to be written by my fellow travelers, soon. To whet your appetite: White-cheeked and Bay-vented Cotingas, Golden-collared and Yellow-scarfed Tanagers, Royal and White-bellied Cinclodes, Diademed Sandpiper-Plover, Humboldt Penguins, Chilean Flamingos, Warbling- and Inca-finches and more. Topped off by the spectacular Machu Picchu ruins.

You may want to check out the successful trip to northern Ecuador, including such places as Humedal del Yalare, Reserva Playa de Oro, Cerro Mongus and the La Bonita road.

Birds seen on the northern Ecuador trip included Bicolored Antpitta (new record for Ecuador), Crescent-faced Antpitta, Chestnut-bellied Cotinga, Blue-whiskered, Red-hooded and Golden-chested Tanagers, Andean Condors, Brown Wood-Rails, Blue-headed Sapphires, Double-banded Graytail, and lots of Scarlet-breasted Dacnises.
