Spring Updates & International Music Night 3! |
Hope everyone is having an excellent 2010!
I just want to share with everyone the happenings at MISA during the spring semester. We'll be having the West Indian Day in MISA this Friday, Feb. 26th so come and grab some free food as you get a chance to check out West Indian culture.
Coming up after that is our 3rd annual International Music Night!! With a live DJ playing cultural dance music all night, FREE snacks and FREE refreshments, its an event you don't want to miss! So don't forget, Friday night before Spring Break, 7-11pm at the Weisman Art Museum, bring your friends, dress to impress and dance the night away.
On another note, Applications to be on the MISA Board for 2010-2011 are available now! I can honestly say it has been a great leadership and social networking experience for me and I strongly encourage you to apply. The application is available in Word .doc format and .pdf format. It is due on Wed. April 7th and can be turned it at our Coffman Room or emailed to Gajen or our main email (misa@umn.edu). Good luck!

It sure isn't warm enough to wear shorts outside anymore. That doesn't mean MISA has run out ideas to get you warm! Here are a few updates on our ongoings:
Thank you for all of your entries to the MISA T-Shirt Design Contest! After careful review of all candidates, the board has chosen its winning design. Congratulations to Mr. Josh Ladella for his creatively simple way to say "Hello" in as many languages as possible! View the winning design here!
Furthermore, MISA Radio is launching this week! Sitting somewhere Friday afternoon with internet? Tune in to us! We will be broadcasting international music and almost-funny talk shows live 3-5pm from our Coffman Room! From then on, MISA Radio will broadcast every Friday at the same timing. Hope you enjoy our program!
More importantly, get your card game on! Dress to impress and play to win at our annual Cultural Flush Casino Night! Don't know how to play? No worries, training is provided. You do not risk any of your money--but you can win great prizes! Forget paying for dinner, we will also be having some nice cultural snacks for you! More details on the event page.

Website launched! |
If you can read this, the new MISA website has successfully loaded on your computer screen!
After working on this over the summer and learning many things, I have finally finished the bulk of this website. That of course does not mean it will never be updated again, on the contrary, I aim to update it every month at least with new news about MISA activities and events information.
Be sure to visit the contact us page to join our new mailing list.
Welcome to new website and we hope you enjoy your stay!
