Welcome

Welcome to the University of Minnesota - Twin Ctiies' largest and most active cultural organization, dedicated to bringing students from backgrounds across the globe together. The Minnesota International Student Association (MISA) strives to promote diversity among students and unity among ethnicities. Established in 1956 as a "Foreign Council," MISA is a non-profit student organization whose purpose is:
- To promote and enhance international awareness, cooperation, cultural diversity and dialogue among students at the University of Minnesota campus and surrounding communities.
- To provide the international student community with formal representation within the University and the wider communities.
- To promote, advocate and advance the international student rights, interests and privileges in the United States.
- To provide programs to support and serve the needs of international students.
- To act as an "umbrella" organization for the International and Multicultural Student Groups at the University of Minnesota.
MISA plays a vibrant role in students' social lives by being the forum for international students and by organizing events throughout the year - these events give students a chance to discover the Twin Cities and other cultures from all around the world.
