Mindfulness for Students Meeting Structure

The meeting timetable below is meant to give you a rough guide of a typical meeting. It may alter slightly each week depending upon the expertise of a given instructor.

*5:00 pm*
Club’s official meeting time (Begin with 2 min sit to get settled)

5:10 - 5:30 pm (20 mins)
Some sort of mindful movement exercise, such as yoga, qi gong, or walking meditation

5:35 - 6:00 pm (25 mins)
Instructor led meditation

6:00 - 6:15 pm (15 mins)
Discussion / Sharing of personal observations or insights from the meditation

OR

Instructor Specific Activity (usually poems, meaning of mindfulness / meditation, integrating mindfulness into daily life, metta practice, etc)

6:15 - 6:30 pm (first 5 mins in silence and then 10 mins socializing)
Eating mindfully (deliberately slowing down your in-take and quantity of food so that you can pay attention to the sensation of eating, focusing on smell, sensation of chewing, any thoughts that arise while you eat, etc.)

*6:30 pm*
Club meeting ends

6:30 - 6:45 pm
Further socializing and clean up
