Boucher Bunch

WELCOME TO THE BOUCHER BUNCH WEBPAGE!

The Boucher Bunch is a small, but rapidly growing group of various Boucher cousins and other Boucher descendants who are primarily searching for their ancestry in Virginia and possibly Pennsylvania. But we welcome all interested Boucher researchers to join our group regardless of where your Boucher line originated! If our group interests you, we invite you to join. This is a "kinder and gentler" effort and is more personal than your usual list server. Many of the members share their personal as well as genealogical selves, so there is more than hard data posted to this group. For "just the facts" people there is the Boucher list server on Roots-L and managed by one of our group members.

We maintain an e-mail roster which contains an "Active Roster" for those who wish to receive all the messages. We also list those who wish to receive only those messages and data which pertain to their particular ancestor or line. To join us, please e-mail a note to vwilliams@juno.com. We will forward to you an Information Questionnaire by e-mail to get started. After you make your responses, send it back to the list owner as a "Reply" message. We will then update the roster and send it out to the group with your data.

The purpose of our Webpage is to provide an up-to-date genealogy tree of the various members of our group, fitting as much of it together as possible, so at any time a member (or internet searcher) may refer to it. We may provide an index of names and eventually a searchable archive of the Bunch postings. This is currently in construction and will be probably significantly modified as we refine our ideas for the site.

The Bunch is participating in a Boucher (and other various name spellings) DNA project to help link the various family groups. If you are interested, see the following web page for details.

NEW INFO 5/31/2009

I have set up a revised collaborative genealogy web page on another server. It will not replace the main Bunch site, but will be a separate worksite for adding information and correcting it as well. I have added Gwen's Thomas Boucher and Joseph Boucher gedcoms and Judie White's Robert Boucher to the site. As a personal working project I have added my family work files. To access the actual info you will need to request to become a user first, then get authenticated and finally I can give you access. This is not a commercial site. I have contracted an ISP to host it now, so it will be available into the future. At any rate try it out and see if you think it will be a valuable addition to the Bunch research and a way for better access to the results. Please let me know your opinions, good or bad.
