Background I grew up in Georgetown, Delaware--a small town about one-half hour from the Atlantic Ocean at Rehoboth Beach. It is located on the Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia (Delmarva) peninsula. Education I graduated from Sussex Central High School (Georgetown, DE) in 1990 and went to college at Winona State University and Bowling Green State University for nursing. When the money for college ran out and I wasn't sure what to do for a career, I went to St. Paul College to become a medical secretary. Work In 1994, I began working as a Transcriptionist for HealthSpan Occupational Health which later merged with Allina. I was also employed at the University of Minnesota's Department of Neurology as well as the Bio-Medical Library until I became a stay-at-home mom on February 9, 2000. I went back to work at the Bio-Medical Library when Nathan was sixteen months old and later resumed employment with the Department of Neurology. Currently, I work for Fairview Health Services in the Diabetes Care Clinic at the University of Minnesota. I've been there for over eight years now! Nathan Nathan is eleven years old now and is such a priceless gift of God! He has such a great sense of humor; he's in sixth grade now. My New Home I purchased a HUD home (in September 2010) on the border of Brooklyn Center and Minneapolis. I have done quite a bit of work on it and joke with people that I have a budget for demolition but no budget for construction. Hopefully that will change soon! :) See all of the projects I've been up to in the index at left, both in the old house and now in the new one. I have yet to replace the windows, fix the sidewalk that slopes toward the house, replace the siding on the garage, and put in a new kitchen floor. |
