Article I - General
Section 1: The official name of this organization
shall be the Campus Libertarians at the University
of Minnesota.
Section 2: The club shall operate as a non-profit
organization.
Section 3: The club shall abide by the applicable
rules and policies of the University of Minnesota
pertaining to student organizations.
Section 4: This group shall exist for the purpose of
promoting libertarian principles on the University
of Minnesota campus. "Libertarian principles" shall
be those in accordance with the national Libertarian
Party's "Statement of Principles." This group
supports the Libertarian Party's 2008 platform.
Article II - Membership/Impeachment
Section 1: Voting membership is open to all
students, faculty, and staff at the University of
Minnesota who share the goals of this organization.
Section 2: No more than one third of the voting
membership shall consist of non-students.
Section 3: Membership is open to all students
without regard to race, religion, color, sex,
national origin, disability, age, veteran status,
creed, marital status, public assistance status, or
sexual orientation.
Section 4: To become a member, one must fill out the
membership application form and return it to the
president of the club.
Section 5: Active members are defined as those who
have attended 2 of the last 4 meetings.
Section 6: Any member/officer may be impeached for
misconduct including failure to perform duties, lack
of attendance, and the misuse of funds. The
member/officer shall be given at least a week notice
before the next meeting and an opportunity to defend
him/herself. This impeachment vote shall require a
2/3 majority vote of active members.
Article III - Officers
Section 1: The officers of this club shall consist
of President, Vice President - Finance, and Vice
President - Publicity.
Section 2: All officers must be currently enrolled
students at the University of Minnesota and
registered for at least six credits.
Section 3: Officers shall be selected during the
first regular meeting in April and shall serve for a
period of one year. Officers shall be elected by a
plurality of the voting members attending the
meeting. The President shall announce the time and
location of the elections by the time of the
previous meeting.
