Short Biographical Sketch:
Yaakov Levi is Professor of Hebrew and
Biblical Studies. He received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Haifa and his Ph.D. from the University of Heidelberg (magna cum laude).
He was for many years the director of the Academy of the
Hebrew Language in Haifa and taught at the University of Haifa, the University of Heidelberg, Carleton College, and the University of Minnesota.
He has published many books and articles in his fields of
interest - Hebrew Language, Biblical studies, and Jewish education. He is the
author of Die Inkongruenz im biblischen Hebräisch
(Disagreement in Biblical Hebrew); Blessing and Cursing in the Hebrew Bible; Analysis of Hebrew Nouns
and Adjectives by Structure; Unesco
