Over the past several years the
Expanding Roles of Theater in Education Task Force,
initially co-chaired by Jan Cohen-Cruz and Lucy Winner,
has been gathering information from individuals
and institutions about how they use theater in
non-traditional settings, both inside
and outside of the academy.

Some programs and courses cross disciplinary
boundaries, integrating theater with English,
Psychology, and Sociology, as well as Art,
Dance, and Creative Writing.

Outside the academia, expanded educational work
includes community-based performances,
health care, social work, public administration,
business/leadership training,
and theater-in-education.
