The University of Minnesota is blessed with a large number of Korean students and students interested in Korea, and numerous resources are available on campus, including the Department of Asian Languages and Literatures, the Program of Korean Studies, and the East Asian Library.
Due to the large number of Koreans and Korean adoptees in Minnesota, there are also a number of local organizations dedicated to the support of the local Korean and Korean adoptee popoulations and education of the greater community about Korea.

The Department of Asian Languages and Literatures offers a number of classes each semester in Korean language from beginning to advanced levels as well as courses in Korean culture.
