The tournament will be held on Saturday, Feburary 25th, 2006. Be sure to put that in your calendar. Check the UMN Tourney Page for additional info and forms.

Karate Tournament Update

The karate tournament is coming up in a few months. This is a test post to try out hosting online forms and stuff. Try it out and see if this works.

Someone said we had the wrong link for the Tournament registration form. This has hopefully been corrected. Also, we apparently need a new liability waiver, I'll get that posted ASAP.

Club will be starting up again for Spring Semester 2005. The first class will be held on January 19th. If you are even a tiny bit interested in martial arts, want to get in shape or just want to be able to say you know karate you should come and check us out. You can participate right away (wear cofortable clothes you can move and sweat in). Don't worry about being intimidated and not knowing what to do, every semester is a new begining and there will be other beginners there as well.

I posted the first 2 months of the upcoming semester for the calendar. I also updated the tournament page with what I know so far. More information will be posted as I get it.

By Popular demand I've made updates to the calendar page. It's complete for this semester. Next semester will be up soon I promise.

Also just a reminder, it's about time to start thinking about our tournament. Mark your calendars for Febuary 26th. Details will be made available when I get them.

This site is alive once more! Training has started for the 2004 school year. If you are interested in trying Karate please stop by and check us out. Beginners are always welcome.

Announcements! Firstly, there is a Spring Activities Fair coming up next week. We, the UMN Karate Club, will have a table advertising our particular flavor of karate. The fair takes place on Tuesday, February 10th, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, in the Great Hall of Coffmann Union. Andre and I will probably be there around 9:30 to set-up. So, we are looking for volunteers to help staff the table throughout the day. Especially, we need people to be there from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Let us know if you can make it!

The tournament page is pretty much complete and ready for our tournament on the 28th. Both forms are available in PDF and Word. HTML formats aren't done yet because they are such a pain in the ass, and next to useless for printing a formatted document compared to the others available.

Beyond our own tournament, Northwestern University's CTJKS will be coming up in mid-April. It is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, the 17th. We'll be renting one of the big maroon University vans and leaving Friday, returning Sunday. Beyond buying food, there are no extra costs to attend (except tournament registration) if you are a club member. We also usually try to shack up with Northwestern club members.
